The aim of International Forum of Terrorism Risk (Re)Insurance Pools (IFTRIP) is to support initiatives for closer international collaboration between sovereign-backed terrorism reinsurance pools. Its annual conference provides a platform for the exchange of experience in mitigation and capacity building against economic loss resulting from terrorism.
The Growing Thought Leadership Award (GTLA) is an international award programme launched by IFTRIP as a platform for motivated students to showcase their ideas, insights and observations with a global audience of industry professionals. Our brief was to design branding and marketing communications for the initiative.
Although the subject matter the award showcases thinking about important issues shaping our world, the branding of the award needed to appeal to a younger audience than the usual IFTRIP communications.
A friendly rocket ship logo was designed – suggestive of going to new places and exploring new ideas. The marketing comms employed illustrated characters to give a less formal look and feel.
The award was promoted primarily online with a bespoke webpage designed using the distinctive graphics.
A leaflet that was also available as a download from the website also provided information about the award.
Additional support graphical content was also created used on social media.
The relaxed illustrative approach has created a series of marketing comms that successfully engaged with the intended audience and saw submissions and the eventual selection of a winner of the inaugural 2021/22 GTLA.
